Â
Bingo in UK:
Â
In 1558 at first UK gambling industry started their journey by name Lottery. In that time especially women were interested to play. national state lottery was then created to boost government income. However private illegal lotteries were often set up and this allowed people with poorer incomes, who would often risk arrest, chance to play as these illegal games were on offer for low prices. In 1906, the Government banned all cash betting, this was to irradiate poorer people from gambling. Bingo or 'tombola' as it was then known as, was used as fund raising tool although some charities did not run these games as many considered these to have too many similarities as the illegal bingo gambling games. During the periods of 1900 to 1960, illegal gambling took off in big way with some surveys highlighting that women in particular were gambling illegally on regular basis. As illegal gambling was so popular, profits from these games would often fund criminal activities. The commercial game of bingo as we know and love it was legalised in 1960, with the "betting and gambling act" 1960. This would now mean that governments could monitor and tax all existing gambling games and this would also see reduction in the number of criminals running illegal games and promote commercial enterprises. From then on in, bingo clubs continued to spring up and the masses started to enjoy regular games of bingo.
Â
1968 In the UK:
Â
Bingo is regulated in the Gaming Act 1968 but can only be played in members-only clubs. Many of the clubs used to be dance halls, and were quite plush. The ideof Bingo being an evening’s entertainment, to be dressed up for, was encouraged, and showbiz tactics were used to make games glitzy and exciting, with numbers having names like 88 being two fat ladies, 11 being legs eleven. The development of large Random Number Generators to make sure the balls were allocated fairly and randomly and purpose-built Bingo halls continued the games’ popularity into the 1980s.
Â
1986 UK:
Â
National Bingo Game launched, and is played in Bingo halls. The same game is played simultaneously in all the halls, with prize payout.
Â
2003 UK:
Â
First UK Online Bingo sites launched. Mainly for female players.
Â
2004 UK:
Â
First multi-player Bingo sites launched allowing players to chat to one another while playing the game.
Â
Online Bingo:
Â
Online bingo has taken off in massive way since its conception in back in 1996. Online Bingo is now one of the most popular ways to play bingo and enjoyed by millions of people across the world!
Â
The online bingo in the UK is now the most popular leisure activity for women aged 20 to 25!? Didn't think why?
Â
The online game plays host too many great bingo games such as the 90 ball bingo game, the 80 ball bingo game, the 75 ball bingo game, speed bingo as well as the many instant, scratch card and casino games. Players really are spoilt for choice.
Â
The online game also has special additional features which keep the games interesting and makes it so easy to play that even the most computer phobic bingo players could find as fun!
Â
The online games also opens up many new social circles for players, as it allows players to socialize with people that they perhaps wouldn't be able to meet down their local bingo halls. One of the special features of the online game is the chat facility. This application can normally be found on most online bingo sites and is very popular with all bingo users across the world. This feature lets the player interact with other players, form friendships, celebrate wins and commiserate losses. Online Bingo chat is normally run in the same way as instant message facilities. This means that players can chat whilst playing bingo games and for those who may have run out of luck, find some encouragement to carry on!
Â
When in the chat room environment, players are encouraged to get involved in the chat lingo! The only way to describe this would be like if you were texting on your mobile phone and you were being bit lazy with your spelling!
Â
Another special feature that players won't find anywhere else is the 'auto play' or 'auto dauber' options. Once players have purchased their desired numbers of bingo cards, their chosen bingo game will begin and players will just need to just sit back and relax. With the 'auto daube' function, players don't need to worry about marking numbers off or making sure that they call bingo in time, as the system will do this all for them. The system takes control of the player's bingo cards and will mark of any matching numbers, or with the 75 ball game, matching the pattern. The system will then recognise when players have bingo and call it for them. This is really great feature of the game as it means that game play is faster and players can just enjoy the game.
Â
Along with the auto daube function, many bingo sites now offer 'best card sorting'. This is particularly useful function for online gaming as it helps the player to keep track of how many numbers they have to go until they reach bingo. 'Best card sorting' will bring all the cards that have the least numbers to go to the front so that the player can always see the progress of the game and by using the chat facility, players will keep each other informed of how they are doing to!
Â
Unlike bingo played in bingo venues, online bingo tends to be lot cheaper than other games. Many online bingo operators offer 90 ball and 75 ball bingo games for just 1p and even the more expensive games will only cost around 50p to ‚£1 to play, which compared to bingo venues is relatively inexpensive as venues tend to charge £15 to £20 for 10 games.
